GrowthJar has no accounts and no servers, so most "support" is really just knowing where things live in the app. Here are the common ones โ and a real email address at the bottom if you're stuck.
How do I get into the parent area?
From your child's jar screen, tap the lock icon in the top-right corner. The app will try Face ID or Touch ID first. If that's unavailable or cancelled, you'll get a maths challenge โ or tap "Use PIN instead" and enter the PIN you created during onboarding. After three failed attempts the gate locks for 60 seconds (that's deliberate โ it's a parental gate).
My child tapped a job but nothing happened to their balance
That's by design. Every child action โ jobs, deposits, spends, plants โ starts as pending and only affects the jar once a parent approves it. Open the parent area and check the approvals list.
How do I change the growth rate or the number of sleeps?
Parent area โ growth settings. You can set a family-wide rate and lockup, and override both per child. A vivid rate (like 25% a week) works well for younger children; dial it towards realistic numbers as they grow.
What does the ยฃ6.99 purchase unlock?
Unlimited children. The app is complete and free with one child, forever. The unlock is a one-time purchase processed by Apple โ there is no subscription. If you've paid and it isn't showing, App Store purchases can be restored from the same Apple ID; if that fails, email us.
How do I delete data?
- One transaction: delete it from the ledger in the parent area.
- One child: delete the child profile โ their name, avatar, transactions and receipt photos go with it.
- Everything: uninstall the app. There's no account to close because there's no account.
Why is there no cloud backup or sync?
Because there's no server โ that's the privacy promise. Your device's own iCloud/device backup (controlled by you and Apple, not by us) may include GrowthJar's data along with the rest of your phone.
The camera isn't working for deposit photos
Check Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Camera โ GrowthJar. Deposit photos are optional receipts stored only on your device; if you decline camera access, everything else in the app still works.
Is GrowthJar a bank? Do you hold my child's money?
No and no. GrowthJar tracks your family's own pocket-money agreement โ you keep the real cash and hand it over when your child spends. Nothing is held, transferred, or at risk.
